Every woman has, at some point, imagined how her wedding day will be. And in every scenario, everything is perfect when she walks towards the love of her life, along with her favourite people, and in the most romantic setting EVER! But what makes all this truly impeccable is her bridal ensemble, of course. Ain’t nobody getting married looking anything short of stunning, right? And the designer that every Indian bride aspires to wear is none other than Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Deepika Padukone is the new bride to have joined the club recently. She was dressed in head-to-toe Sabyasachi for both her weddings – the Konkani style and the Anand Karaj. Even Ranveer Singh wore Sabyasachi. Image: Instagram And, it’s not just clothes, Sabyasachi also has a jewellery collection that is just as stunning. Since you are going to buy wedding accessories anyway, might as well make them grand like DeepVeer. After all, this isn’t a useless expenditure, it’s an investment of a lifetime. So, here is everything you need to know about the brand, the brain behind the brand, and its jewellery collections

Who Is Sabyasachi Mukherjee?

Sabyasachi is a luxury label by designer and couturier, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. He comes from a middle-class Bengali family of Kolkata. Mukherjee wanted to study at NIFT college but his parents disagreed. So, he sold his books to pay for the admission form and passed the exam. Four months after his graduation in 1999, Sabyasachi started his eponymous label which we all love and aspire to get married in today. Sabyasachi’s design philosophy is very simple and clear, “Personalized imperfection of the human hand.” Deserts, gipsies, prostitutes, antique textiles, and cultural traditions of his hometown have been a lifelong inspiration for him. It was only 10 years ago, in 2008, when he launched a line of jewellery exclusively designed by him in association with the Gaja brand. And in 2009, Sabyasachi opened his first flagship store in Kolkata. Sabyasachi sells out of five flagship stores and is a part of various multi-designer stores in India today. Apart from India, you can also find his store in America, Dubai, and London. Fun Fact: Not many people know this about the designer but he has also designed bed and bath lines for Bombay Dyeing! Surprised, aren’t you?

Why Is Sabyasachi So Famous?

For the last 15 years, Sabyasachi has pioneered and propagated the use of handlooms in his design collection. Not only are his bridal collections a whole class apart, but his menswear, jewellery collection, and accessories are also lust-worthy. Why else would the entire Bollywood fraternity obsess over one designer so much, eh?
